Authorities Search Nearby Landfill for Baby Lisa Irwin

November 2nd, 2011

The authorities have searched a nearby landfill twice now during their investigation into the disappearance of Lisa Irwin, who has been missing since early October. The first search was conducted directly after the disappearance was reported, and the other several days later.

It is unclear what if anything was found during either search.

The police at first believed an intruder had entered the home, but they haven’t yet found a point of forced entry. The door was found unlocked and Lisa’s room had an unlocked window.

Irwin Family Half-brothers Not Being Interviewed

November 1st, 2011

According to the family, baby Lisa’s two older stepbrothers, aged five and eight, were sleeping with mom on the night of Lisa’s disappearance. The father claims that when he arrived home after a late shift, the lights were on, the doors were unlocked, and Lisa was missing.

Though authorities have been pushing for it, the two boys have not been allowed to speak to police since October 4th. Police claim that the boys will only be spoken to by those who specialize in dealing with children, not regular officers. Police claim that this is yet another way the family is not being completely open during the investigation, and that their lack of cooperation makes the investigation more difficult for everyone.

Lisa Irwin’s Parents Remain Underground

October 31st, 2011

Lisa Irwin’s mother and father haven’t spoken with the media or cooperated with police since October 8th. Police are narrowing their search efforts to the family’s home and the one and a half mile area surrounding their home. They claim that their lack of cooperation implies that they family is hiding something, say authorities.

There have, however, been several other leads that some feel have not been properly followed up on, including the video of the man coming out of the woods with a baby in the middle of the night. A next door neighbor of the family’s claims to have seen a man carrying a baby wearing only a diaper in the neighborhood around 12:30 that morning.

The private investigator hired by an outsider to work on the case on behalf of the family claims that the search area should be extended to three miles within the house, to include nearby woods. He claims that in his eyes, the woods were the last place baby Lisa could have been spotted. It’s starting to sound like the police are simply deciding to put all of their search efforts into investigating the family, at this point.

Baby Lisa

October 24th, 2011

Regarding Baby Lisa, I just watched this on the news… surveillance footage from a gas station 2 miles away show a man walking out of the woods with a baby. They’ve had a few other witnesses show up who have seen similar things in a couple mile radius from their home. I’ve seen the footage myself and it really is so hard to pick out what is happening, it is extremely blurry. Hard to tell if this would have anything to do with the case, or if it is just a random lead. Pretty odd though, a man carrying a baby at 4am in the woods. Heck, even it doesn’t have a lot to do with Baby Lisa, it would be suspicious even on its own.

This last Thursday a.m. it wrapped up.  Investigators didn’t release any information following the search, but detectives worked shoulder to shoulder in the backyard searching for evidence.  They appeared to be carrying various items in and out of the home, including x-ray machines and carpeting. Media entities, including helicopters, were not allowed in or around (or above) the area

Still looking for Lisa Irwin

October 24th, 2011

“It is frustrating — you know if it was a toddler, in the back of people’s heads there would be the remote — if crazy possibility than a child just walked away,” Investigator Young said. “But since it’s a 10-month-old, (there) was no doubt somebody did something.”

Someone is at fault here.

Lisa Irwin Case Developments

October 23rd, 2011

Investigators searching for missing Lisa Irwin found used diapers and baby wipes in an abandoned home nearby today, but police are saying they doubt a connection.

The house was reportedly discovered by  passerby that looked in the house and alerted police.

The house was within the search area.  Baby Lisa has been missing since Oct. 4, when her parents reported that she disappeared from her bedroom crib.

Kansas City Police Department Capt. Steve Young told KMBC-TV the diapers and wipers were found in the basement. He said crime scene investigators will be brought in, but “It just doesn’t fit.”

Baby Lisa’s Father Speaks

October 22nd, 2011

“Anything, even the smallest bit of information could lead to her return,”

the father of Baby Lisa Irwin said during an interview with Ann Curry of NBC.  Addressing whoever may have his daughter, he said:

“We’re a close family and my boys miss her. Me and her father miss her. Everybody loves her. We have a good family , and she needs to be with us. Please, please bring her home. Drop her off anywhere safe, a fire department , a church, a police station . Just bring her somewhere safe. No questions asked. And we just want our daughter back. We’ll do anything to get her.”

Lisa Irwin was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Monday when her mother put her to bed. Her father, an electrician, discovered Lisa missing when he got home around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday from a late-night shift at work, according to police.

Dogs Helping in Lisa Irwin Search

October 22nd, 2011

An integral part of this investigation has been police search dogs that the media has been asked not to show while they work. It was specifically requested that these dogs not be photographed while they work. Helicopters are not allowed in the area when the dogs are working, for this specific reason.

So far no new evidence has been discovered, but we will keep updating!
